Why do you need an Architect?

Good question.  Many jurisdictions require that a licensed architect provide “signed and sealed” drawings as part of the application package for a building permit.  The final set of drawings, however, are not why you need an architect.  At Robie J. Wood Architects, we believe that the service we as architects provide is the process of design.

So what does that mean?  Another good question.  The process of design is the exercise of assessing the many variables of a project (location, needs, budget) and creating something which is beautiful.  Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.  The beauty we speak of, as they also say, is more than skin deep (whoever they is).  Beauty for us is creating something that synthesizes these variable into a cohesive whole which ultimately reflects our client’s uniqueness.  Regardless of location, age, or style, your house, business, or institution is unique and special to you and the community it resides.  It is part of a larger story which you may not even be aware of.  We look forward to meeting you and beginning the exciting process of creating beauty.
